Top Do’s and Don’ts For Buying Bridal Lingerie

Bridal Lingerie is a key item to consider for your wedding and something you need to think about in advance of your dress fittings.  You’ll need to have selected the right style of wedding lingerie that will sit comfortably under your wedding dress and gives you maximum support and lift where it is needed.  To help you get started on the search for your bridal lingerie here’s a list of the top do’s and dont’s when planning your wedding underwear

1. Don’t be tempted to buy your bridal lingerie until you have bought your dress no matter how gorgeous it looks.  Not all bridal lingerie will be suitable underneath your wedding dress
2. Do pick bridal lingerie that feels comfortable.  You are going to have
3. to wear this the whole day.
4. Don’t leave buying your wedding lingerie until the last minute – you’ll need this for your dress fittings and you’ll also need to make sure you get the right style!
5. Do remember to have your final dress fittings with your full bridal lingerie included.  Not doing this may leave your dress not fitting correctly.
6. Don’t opt for lace styles if you have a light weight wedding dress as you may be able to see this through your gown – not a great wedding day look!
7. Do consider buying a body shaper if necessary to create smooth lines and ease out any potential lumps and bumps.  You can also opt for some more alluring wedding nightwear if required!
8. Do consider opting for seamless styles to avoid unsightly lines through your dress.
9. Do wear some support if you have a fuller bust. You don’t want to pop out of the wedding dress or feel uncomfortable on the day.   A great bust line can make all the difference.

10. Don’t shy away from adding something like chicken fillets to give you a fuller bust if you are on the smaller side.  This can give you just the amount of lift and increase in size you might need to make your wedding dress hang better on the day.
11. Do research lots and try on lots of types of wedding lingerie to see what suits you best – underwear should be consider the same as clothes – some styles suit your shape others don’t.
12. Do ask your bridal store or seamstress what is the best underwear to suit your wedding dress style.  It may be that you don’t need any after all.
13. Do get measured for your size, even if you think you know it.  You’ll be amazed how many brides wear the wrong bra cup and back size!
14. Do decide if you are going to wear hose and what type.  This will hep you determine whether you need stockings or hold ups.
15. Do think about the type of wedding shoe you will be wearing if you are opting to wear hose of some kind.  Try and get toeless stockings or hold up if going for a peep toe or open toe shoe of any kind
16. Don’t forget the all important sexy garter – its just the right thing to do!
